About Me

My photo
What's up everyone?!?!?! My birth name is Elizabeth but most of my friends and family call me Liz. I'm from good old Iowa and have lived here all of my life. I am a very outgoing fun loving gal. I'm the type to be up for anything and i LOVE to laugh! My dream is to get my very own hog... not the animal hog but a Harley hog and I can now say that this dream has finally been achieved!!!! There is nothing like the feeling of hitting the pavement with the wind blowin' your hair a mess. You get to see and experience so much. No air condition, no radio, the wind in your hair, watch out for those bugs they can give ya a lil sting when they hit ya at 70mph. Elvis Presley once said Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine! I love that saying... Well stay tuned to hear some of my experiences and stories from the wide open highway! Always remember keep the paint up and the rubber down : )

It's begining to look alot like Christmas....

So who is ready for Santa?!?!?! Ha ha ha.... i suppose i am. This year Christmas has sure snuck up on me. I seems like yesterday it was October.... Time flies : ) Does everyone have all of their shopping done yet? Well if you know me you know that i can be a little bit of a procrastinator so of coarse i don't have mine done yet : ) This weekend my brother & I are gonna hit the malls & get finished up. Hopefully i wont get to stressed out with all the other procrastinators out there lol.....
Well this year we got a pre-lit Christmas tree. Thank goodness, i just hate having to string all the lights around the darn tree. I decided to go for and orange (imagine that) & silver themed tree... When i first decorated it i just hated it, you could barley see the orange colors. So i went back and got some more ornaments and now i just love it.... Here is a picture of it.... I thought it ended up turning out pretty good. I was going to try to get some Harley ornaments but man those things are expensive! I will just wait & try to get some on sale or from Ebay. I just love Ebay ha ha ha.....
So at work we do what is called a Secret Angel.... so we all draw a name and get little gifts for that person everyday for a week. Nothing big just little treats & nick knacks. Well the lady that had me was awesome! I got some fuzzy socks and candy & some other stuff. Well the last day we reveal who we had and get them a little better gift. Well my gal got me a fleece throw blanket & some Christmas bulbs...... Not just any bulbs but she made these for me... Aren't then awesome!!! Here is a closer picture so you can see..... The match my tree perfectly! Now my tree is complete. She did an awesome job : ) Thanks lil Lady, you know who you are : ) Well I better get going.... If i dont get another post up before Christmas hope you all have a wonderful Christmas & remember Jesus is the reason for the season! Merry Christmas!!!

Last Ride This Season : (

Well i know this is a little last but here are a few pictures from our last ride of the season.... It was the perfect weekend for riding. A few weeks earlier i had received the Harley leather coat that i had been wanting as a birthday present. I love it! I was so excited : ) It is so comfortable, just heavy enough for this ride....I just love this picture.... Its just amazing the things that you see from the open road. You just have to remember to relax and take it all in and learn to appreciate things like sunsets. Here is another fun picture that i took, very unique : )
As you can see from the 1st picture the sun was just setting and i looked over and saw our shadow & thought that would be an awesome picture. I was hoping that it would turn out. Turned out perfect! Well that's all i have for right now... Hang in there & dream of warmer riding weather : )

Crazy/Funny Motorcycles

So while cruising the internet i have run across a few pretty hilarious bikes.... Some i'm sure are just a joke or computer enhanced, but man some of them are just so funny & ridiculous! Here are some that i have found : )This one here has a camper attached to it! How convenient!

This one here is a cow.... Really! A tad ridiculous i think lol.......

Ok really?!?!?! I'm all about some sweet apes but goodness... This doesn't even look comfortable!!!

Every womans dream...... A heel-cycle!! LOL these 2 are similar but i had to throw them in the mix here.... If you look at the pink heel you will notice that there are 2 guys driving/riding in it... And you thought heels were just for women ha ha ha..... It just don't look right LOL......

Well thats all i have for right now but i will always be on the hunt for some of these crazy/funny motorcycles to post... I hope it brought a chuckle to you today... Until next time : )

Birthday Month 2010

Well as some of you know this is my Birthday month! Yep and as most of you know i love my birthday and usually celebrate all month long! This year i have turned the ripe ole' age of 29... Next year is the big one. I don't know if I'm excited or dreading it. I found this picture online and love it i think it pretty much speaks for itself......
I guess this to me just says that it is never to late to do something! For me it is kind of an encouragement... Saying u may not have done it or have it all yet but there is still time! There are so many things that i want to do and would like to have but it all takes time... So all ya can do it keep your goals in mind and keep on riding towards them and one day you can start checking off you "bucket list." Which for those of you who dont know what that means.... It means to make a list or have goals that you want to do before you kick the bucket ha ha ha... There was a movie about it a few years back too... Pretty decent..... Anyways, i think you all should have a Bucket list... If you don't you should start one and each time you complete or achieve one of your goals you can check that right off! You will feel so good about yourself : ) Well gotta run but have a good one and be safe out there!!!!!

And I to my motorcycle
Parked like the soul of the junkyard
Restored, a bicycle fleshed
With power, and tore off
Up Highway 106, continually
Drunk on the wind in my mouth,
Wringing the handlebar for speed,
Wild to be wreckage forever.

My First Solo Ride...

Wow sorry everyone its been over a month since my last post! Man things around here have been a little crazy.... I feel like i have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off!

Well since my last post a good friend of mine has been letting me ride her old motorcycle..... Wow it aint that perdy but man i loved every minute of it! I still can't wait to get my own and be able to just ride.
One sat i went out to her place and we had planned to ride. It would be my first time riding since i had taken my motorcycle class through ABATE of IA last year so i was nervous that i would be rusty. But man it all comes back pretty quick. I first just went up and down her long driveway a few times then she says well you ready to take it out on the road... I about peed my pants i didn't know if i could handle it.... Well i sucked it up and we took off. She followed me on her motorcycle. We did great and man we were just cruising along back in the hills when we came upon a stop sign that was on an incline. Well she pulled up next to me and we we trying to talk over the crazy loud cackles of the old bike i was on, we decide to take off what do ya know, i kill it... Well this bike had not been ridden in quite some time so it was having a heck of a time starting back up. So we decide to push start it, we turn it around so it will be going down hill. Upon turning it around we dump the dang thing and fluids of all kinds just start pouring out of every or-face of the bike... This whole time we can't stop laughing at ourselves. We get it back up and she hops on and i proceed to run behind and give it a good push start.... we must have tried for a half hour before we said screw it, pulled it off to the side and went and got a charger for it. For the first time riding it was the best time and i will always have a great story to tell about it.
Here is a picture that she took of me riding the old bike a few weeks later. That day we didn't have any troubles, we ended up riding for quite awhile. I think that i am defiantly getting the hang of it and will be ready for my own soon. Now just gotta save the money : )
Well until next time have a good safe ride.....

***STURGIS***

If you didnt already know but Sturgis has started!!!! It started on Aug 9th and goes clear through Aug 15th i believe. 2 Awesome weeks of riding, drinking, meeting new people, and just enjoying the open road. Unfortunately I have never been and this year was unable to attend : ( My boyfriend his brother and a good friend all took off Wed evening after work and drove about halfway to Mitchell, SD stayed then got up and rode the rest of the way. They made it safe and are now all set up and having a blast i'm sure.
I hate to bring you all down but Tues night there were 4 guys coming back from Sturgis and were almost home and were all killed. It was a very tragic event! A truck crossed the cones in a construction zone and wiped them out. It just really rocks ya to the core when you hear of such tragedies as this one. I know it pry happens all the time but it is still hard to digest.
I do not tell you this to bring you down, I tell you this as a caution to motorcyclist and people driving vehicles too! Did you know that Sturgis, SD brings about a half a million people to the area? Can you imagine how many bikes are out on the road for these 2 weeks? You should always watch for bikes when operating a vehicle but for these 2 weeks every year please pay special attention! And bikers don't be stupid!!! Follow the rules of the road.
I dont know if you have ever heard of the saying "Loud Pipes Save Lives" but i am a firm believer in that. So just be aware of your surroundings while out on the open road and remember keep the paint up and the rubber down!

Poker Run 7/30/10

Well Sat we went on a poker run it started out at Dillion Brothers Harley and ended up at Anchor Inn. It was such an awesome day to be riding! As you can see from the picture above this is what i see from the back of the bike. We went all over here is a picture of our first stop.

There ended up being about 800 bikes on the ride all day long. It was just so neat to see everyone riding together sharing the same love of riding. It was definatly a great day. Here's another picture from the day.

As you can tell i like to edit and get funky with my pictures so stay tuned for more from the wide open road : )

Avoca Demolition Derby

Well last weekend a few of us went down to Avoca Iowa to go and watch the demolition derby. I have only been to one other demo derby and that was at Westfair last year. It was pretty exciting! Man was it loud! Wow do those cars get beat up. There were so many cars that had lost their bumpers or their trunks were clear crushed up to the back windows. One guy even got hit so hard in the drivers side door they stopped it because they thought he was hurt. He turned out to be just fine, i bet it just scared the crap out of him : ) After the derby we hit the small town lil bars. Turned out to be very fun night : )

Well Monday is Andy's birthday but i have to work so i asked him if he would like me to make him supper and what he would want. Well he says that he would like fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Well for one i have not ever made it so i was a little nervous. My grandma Mowery makes the best fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy so i got her recipe.
